Country’s largest bank, State Bank of India, offers its customers a number of ways to link their aadhaar number to the bank accounts. According to SBI’s website, www.sbi.co.in an individual can do it in 4 different ways i.e. Internet banking, SMS, ATM or you can visit any SBI branch.
So here are some ways you can link your SBI Bank Account to the Aadhaar card.
Linking Aadhaar via internet banking portal
SBI customers those who have subscribed to the bank’s internet banking facility can easily log into www.onlinesbi.com. On the left panel of the screen, there is an option available “My Accounts” under which you access the link “Link your Aadhaar Number”.
You will be directed to a screen where you have to select the Account number, enter the Adhaar number and “Submit”.
Last two digits of your registered mobile number will be shown on the screen. The status of mapping will be notified on your registered mobile number only.
Linking Aadhaar through SBI ATM
SBI users can approach any of the bank’s ATMs to link their aadhaar with the bank account.
After swiping the card you need to enter your PIN, click on “Service-Registrations”. Select aadhaar registration and account type.
Enter your aadhaar number and re-enter to confirm it.
Linking Aadhaar through SMS
To link your bank account with Aadhaar number through SMS facility, you need to send a message from your registered mobile number. Type UID (space) Aadhaar number (space) Account number to 567676.
There can be a possibility that your number is not registered or you have already linked your aadhaar number, in that case, a SMS reply will be sent to you.
If your mobile number is registered with SBI, you will get a confirmation message of the seeding request.
After the process is complete, you aadhaar number will be verified by the bank with UIDAI. In case it fails to verify, you will be sent an SMS to contact any SBI branch along with aadhaar number or e-aadhaar.
Linking Aadhaar through branch visit
You (SBI customers) can visit any branch of the bank with a copy of your aadhaar number or e-aadhaar. You need to take a Letter of Request with the Xerox copy of aadhaar letter. Once the verification is done by the branch, you will be sent a message to your registered mobile number regarding the status of seeding.
