I am sure you must remember that the aadhaar linking dates are approaching. The Indian Government has requested every resident to complete the linkage process in order to avail different social benefits and schemes. There are certain deadlines regarding the 12 digits unique number you should keep in your mind.
PAN Card: According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes, earlier it was 31 December 2017 to link your PAN card with the aadhaar but now the date has been extended to 31 March 2018. It is very important for all the taxpayers to link their aadhaar otherwise ITR will not be processed.
Bank accounts/Financial services: Those who have their bank accounts should link their aadhaar number with it by 31 December 2017 otherwise your account will be blocked.
PPF, NSC linking: For those who want to open a post office account or want to invest in small saving schemes like National Savings Certificate and Public Provident Fund, aadhaar is compulsory. Thus, you need to update your aadhaar till 31 December 2017, said finance ministry.
Insurance linking: By 31 December 2017, you need to link your Aadhaar and PAN with the insurance policies. India’s biggest life insurer LIC allows its policyholders to complete the procedure online or offline.
Mutual Fund linking: Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, everyone is required to link the aadhaar with their mutual fund profile. It doesn’t matter you’re a first-time investor or seasoned trader, everyone should link their aadhaar by 31 December 2017.
Linking with SIM: The Indian Government has made it compulsory to link your aadhaar with the SIM card. The last date to do so is 6 February 2018. Complete the process as soon as possible otherwise, your SIM would be deactivated.
For social security schemes: In order to avail several benefits of social schemes, you need to link your aadhaar until 31 December 2017.
